Percussion cap pistol


Trnava (Tyrnau) near Bratislava between 1850 and 1880 Iron, wood, horn, forging, gilding, engraving, carving length 40 cm, 13 mm calibre The pistol has an octagonal damascened barrel. The top has an engraved inscription that reads: Karl Berger in Tyrnau. The firing mechanism and lock-plate are decorated with fine engraving of neo-baroque finials. The butt is made of walnut wood and carved with a net motif on the grip. The barrel holder has a ramrod made of oak wood, reinforced with bone on the top. Acquired for the Museum with the purchase of weapons from the Kulmer family.
