Bosnian sword


Steel, brass, wood, coloured stones 16th to 17th centuries 109 x 96 x 94.5 cm Wooden handle coated with brass. Handle button shaped as a 'cat's head' with protruding central section. Crosspiece with deeply curved ends. The blade is wider, double-edged, with four shorter fullers. A wolf symbol situated on the reverse part of the blade. The scabbard is wooden, reinforced with metal, with beds for 75 stones in various colours. Found at Bosnia. M. Sercer, Macevi, bodezi, nozevi, Zagreb, 1976, catalogue number 396.
