Ljudevit Gaj's table clock


Vienna around 1835 - 40 Brass, wood, glass base 9.2 x 5.8 cm, height with the glass dome 9 cm A brass clock on a wooden ellipsoid base with dial in the shape of the Illyrian coat of arms, encased under a glass dome. The inscription on the half-moon reads: Udrit ce i za nas sat! The wheel ratchet and pendulum are missing. Spring barrel mechanism with a balance wheel. The clock was probably made to order for members of the Illyrian Movement. From the collection of Ljudevit Gaj. M.
