In the upper part of the bureau bookcase 10 small drawers (one of them is new) with a central niche (the doors and a shelf are missing). In the middle a bureau for writing, which conceals three drawers and a secret compartment. On the outer sides, on both slanting corners, there is a single drawer. The lower part, shaped as a commode, holds three drawers with locks and grips made of brass. The bureau bookcase stands on four wood-turned legs in the form of flattened balls. The surface of the lower part is wave-like profiled and decorated with edging and ribbon-like interlace inlaying made of black poplar.
Originally from the Novi Dvori near Zapresic, from the time when the estate was owned by the French noble family of Sermage. The cupboard was preserved through the efforts of the Commission for Collecting and Preserving Cultural Monuments and Antiques (KOMZA), and came to Museum between 1945 and 1949.
The conservation and restoration to the piece was done in 1996 by Mato Blekic, HPM.
