    Oil and tempera on canvas
    author: Ivan Krstitelj Ranger
the first half of the 18th century

The central part of the church flag shows on one side the figure of St Barbara on clouds with accompanying attributes: tower, chalice and a sword. She is surrounded by heads of cherubs. In the upper part the inscription in capital letters reads: 'S BARBARA, ORA PRO NOBIS'. On the other side there is a depiction of the Baptism of Christ with the figures of St John the Baptist and Christ, accompanied by a dove with spread wings. In the background of the main painting there is a landscape that develops in Ranger's characteristic style. Above the scene in a narrow field the inscription reads: 'S: IOANNES BAPTISTA ORA PRO NOBIS'.

Bought for the Museum in 1993 from the 'Katedralni antikvarijat' in Zagreb. The flag had at one time belonged to Dr Kresimir Lukatela.
