Ivana Pichler (Zagreb, 1841 - ?)


Zagreb Ivan Zasche 1855 Watercolour on ivory 4,1 x 3,2 cm The bust of a young woman depicted face on in an oval. Her brown hair is parted in the middle and gathered at the nape, her eyes are clear blue and her face round. She is dressed in a white shirt and is wearing a brown cape over it. The signature along the right edge reads: Zasche. Ivana Pichler, whose married name was Huhn, was the daughter of the painter's widowed landlady, Mrs Pichler. Bought in 1975 from the Huhn family from Zagreb. M. Schneider, Slikar Ivan Zasche (1825-1863), Zagreb, 1975, page 141, catalogue number 59.
