Knight's cross of the Order of the Legion of Honour

    The cross is shaped as a five-pointed star with split ends. The arms are enamelled in white and end in silver balls. A laurel wreath enamelled in green is placed between the arms of the cross. A silver crown is placed above the cross. The sash is red, drawn through a loop. Obverse: a golden medallion placed in the middle of the cross, showing the figure of French King Henry IV, in right profile. In the ring surrounding the medallion, on a blue-enamelled ground an inscription is placed in gold lettering: HENRY IV. ROI DE FRAN./ce/ ET DE NAVA./rre/. Reverse: the medallion holds three Bourbon lilies. In the ring surrounding the medallion the inscription reads: HONNEUR ET PATRIE.
